about

studioaccanto is a design project based in Rome, Italy which is interested in the amalgamation of form and function, using fabric to create accessories, objects and revisit the occasional piece of vintage furniture. The name studioaccanto formed from the Italian word accanto signifies the study of pairings of textures and geometries, when one is placed next to another. Many of the pieces are reversible two-sided, and play with contrasts: patterns and solids, graphic and minimal. The local Made in Italy tradition is also paired with an international range of fabric traditions - from Hawaiian barkcloth, Japanese Kasuri prints, South African Shweshwe, Sardenian cork, American quilting cottons and many others.
